In January of 2006, I took it upon myself to call attention not only to the accomplishments of our NHL greats, but to call out a less heralded group, who are worthy of the same if not greater accolades. These warriors who forsake the razor, and embrace their ancestral roots when entering the post season of the NHL deserved a hall of honor in which their names could echo in eternity! Playoff Beard .com was born.
Since it's inception, Playoff Beard .com has witnessed the revival of the NHL following it's lockout, the addition of a variety of new rules and standards, an Olympic break which saw Sweden take the Gold, a playoff season that shocked and surprised with upstarts from Buffalo, Edmonton, Anaheim, a Stanley Cup Final that produced our latest champs the Carolina Hurricanes, and perhaps the most significant title of the year to be awarded to a steady, and solid defenceman by the name of Bret Hedican.
While his season was and playoffs were remarkable, they paled in comparison to Mr. Hedican's unprecedented playoff beard. Sure there were many chin mullets in the post season, but none so thick and full as Bret Hedican's. His playoff beard grew beyond his head, swallowing not only the lower half of his face, but the chin strap that helped secure his helmet. Bret Hedican easily took the title as 2006 Chuck Norris Trophy Winner .
Playoff Beard .com has a new look, and a new goal to bring you more of what you want. More Hockey coverage, and more playoff beards, and the whole time providing you with entertainment, and way to enjoy your morning coffee, your lunch, or any other moment throughout the day in which you'd rather be doing something other than work. Thanks for dropping by and for all of the support!
Your friend on ice,
Captain Bosh
