Markus Naslund calls it a career
New York Rangers forward Markus Naslund has informed his club that he intends to retire from the NHL.
Naslund has one year remaining on two year $8 million contract worth $3 million. Apparently Naslund informed the Rangers of his decision to retire during his exit interview, following the Rangers first round loss to the Washington Capitals. Although the Rangers have yet to officially confirm the report from the New York Post.
Naslund recorded 46 points (24 goals, 22 assists) in 82 games with the New York Rangers this season.
Your friend on ice,
Captain Bosh

*grumblegrumblegrumble* I always tell people to stop whining whenever the ref blows the play dead and waves off a goal because of it, but DAMN I was not pleased with hossa's goal being denied. The puck was RIGHT THERE.
*sigh*
Anyways, it seems to me that wings really need to get their offense in order. I noticed that later in the game when Babcock started mixing the lines up (ex: Hossa-Filppula-Helm?). Hopefully he gives the ducks a different look at the start of the next game.
Speaking of Helm, has anybody seen this guy? He's playing great. He might not have the raw skill of Datsyuk, Hossa, or even Hudler, but he compensates by being fast as balls.
Zetterbergs's performance has me a bit concerned. He makes good plays when he has the puck, but he just seems a step slow out on the ice. I can't help but wonder if he's injured. Or if I'm just being paranoid.
Lastly, what the **** is wrong with Rafalski? He's been out the whole series and while Chelios has looked pretty good, we need our best players to beat a team like the ducks.

It seems that the Hossa / Filppula / Helm line evolved into the Hossa / Filppula / Franzen line that has been tearing up the ducks.

I'm just going to go ahead and say it:
BEST
PLAYOFF
ROUND
EVER
!
(or at least in the past five years)
Also, I'm so pumped to play the Blackhawks in the semifinals.
