First Overall Pick goes to the Island
The New York Islanders won the NHL Draft Lottery earlier this evening and will pick first in this years NHL Entry Draft. Unless the Islanders trade the pick (which is highly unlikely since Mike Milbury is no longer associated with the organization) forward John Tavares or Swedish defenceman Victor Hedman will be headed to New York. This club needs one of these players the same way Pittsburgh needed Crosby many years ago. A better ending to this nightmare season for the Islanders and their fans couldn't have been scripted.
