Vancouver bound!
Unrestricted Free Agent forward Mats Sundin agreed to a one year deal with the Vancouver Canucks this evening.
After months of speculation, and nearly a dozen suitors, Sundin chose to sign with Vancouver Canucks. The Canucks originally offered Sundin a 2 year deal worth $20 million in July, but Sundin waited till just a week before Christmas to make his final decision.
Sundin put up career numbers last year posting 78 points (32 goals, 46 assists) in 74 games with the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Sundin's decision to join the Canucks makes the road to the Stanley Cup Finals that much more difficult in the West .
Your friend on ice,
Captain Bosh

I guess my feelings about this can be summed up in two words.
About Time.
Lord, this was almost worse than then the talk about Temu "Will he return?" Selanne

Cannot disagree at all. I was a little torn on this, because had he come to the blueshirts we would have lost a few role playing guys... which may have worked out poorly for the team. There is no denying that Sundin will provide a serious scoring threat for Vancouver, and from what I've heard he will probably be playing on the second line with Demitra.
