YO JOE!

Playoff Beard .com - Joe SakicColorado Avalanche forward Joe Sakic ended weeks of speculation by re-upping with his old club for one more year (and ended what has been a very quiet few weeks in the NHL... aside from the Sundin Watch).

The 39 year old Sakic signed a one year deal with the Avs worh $6 million.

Last season Sakic played just 44 games because of a hernia that required surgery, but he still posted a respectable 40 points (13 goals, 27 assists) during the regular season and another 10 points (2 goals, 8 assists) during the playoffs.

Your friend on ice,
Captain Bosh

After all the **** that has gone down between the Wings and the Avs (it's a shame those games are a shadow of their former selves) I can't say I *LIKE* Sackic, but he's a damn fine player, that's for sure.

Good luck to you Joe.

Well, Jeff if there's a Steve Yzerman of the Colorado Avalanche organization it's without a doubt Mr. Joe Sakic. It's good for hockey to have guys like that around as leaders and I'm happy to see him play another year.

How bout that Meszaros trade? Tampa has changed so much this off-season, I guess one more won't hurt...but I can't for the life of me imagine how this team is going to have any kind of chemistry right out of the box.

Similarities between Sackic and Yzerman? What, you mean a fan favorite player who's a great leader, skilled player who's respected by the entire league and wears the number 19?

I don't have any idea what you're talking about, Cap.
