Ryan Smyth comes home this evening..... or to his former home. The once Edmonton Oiler who spent 12 years with the club will visit under a new banner. After being traded at the deadline last season to the New York Islanders as a playoff rental when a long-term deal could not be worked out, Ryan Smyth chose to sign as an unrestricted free agent with the Colorado Avalanche.

Tonight's game will be filled with mixed emotions for both the Oiler's fans, who have watched a parade of their home grown stars head for the exits upon reaching free agency, and for Smyth who presumably wanted to play his whole career in Edmonton.
