The McAmmond Hit
Ottawa Senators forward Dean McAmmond seems to be a magnet for cheap shots. McAmmond was on the receiving end of a flying body check to the head from Philadelphia Flyers Steve Downie. If you remember, McAmmond was elbowed in the face by Anaheim Ducks defenceman Chris Pronger (his second suspension during the playoffs last year) and sustained a series ending concussion.
While McAmmond did suffer a concussion, he didn't sustain any fractures. He will recieve further treatmen and evaluations today. Here is a replay of the hit:
Your friend on ice,
Captain Bosh

You know, thinking of last year's huge brawl between the Sens and Sabres, I'm kind of surprised this didn't escalate into something more. Wasn't Ray Emery playing in this game? How could he stand to just sit in the crease instead of throwing off the helmet, grinning like a bastard, and going after whoever he could get his hands on.
Maybe it'll happen the next time these two teams meet. Either way, preseason's getting ROUGH.

I didnt find it dirty at all. Mcammond had his head down skating behind the net and stevie downie just did his job. 20 games was way to harsh
