No contract No Gionta?
The Devils high scoring forward (48 goals last season) Brian Gionta is still waiting to be signed to a new contract. Although Devils GM Lou Lamoriello has stated that he, and restricted free agents David Hale and Paul Martin will be welcome in training camp regardless of their contract status.
Brian Gionta is more than likely to not attend training camp unless a deal is in place. Gionta decided against electing to bring the Devils to salary arbitration in favor of signing a new long termcontract with the Devils. Gionta is reportedly seeking $3.5 million a season.
The Devils problems are not going away. Currently sitting at the $44 million salary cap, he is going to have to cut some fat, and muscle in order to make room for Gionta, Hale, and Martin. For more on this check out Mark Everson article in the NY Post.

They're in a tight spot, to say the least. I have faith in my hatred for all things Devils related that they'll be able to sign him and work everything out with the cap and go on to win 8 more stanley cups over the next 10 years. And all just to piss me off.

Expect a major trade. The Devils are just going to have to move a big name player in order to make room for him, and for Gomez. Expect it soon.
