Lidstrom off the market
The McCabe Effect continues! Detroit has signed Norris Trophy winning defenceman Nicklas Lidstrom to a 2 year contract worth $7.6 million per and effectively keeping him off the free agent market which begins tonight at midnight. Good move by Detroit, you had to hold on to this guy, especially after the season he just had. For more on this visit TSN.ca.

This is the biggest no-brainer in hockey. Not unlike suggesting Brian Engblom needs a new haircut.
So anybody heard any rumors about where Guerin might end up???

Ok Moustache I'm gonna go out on a limb.
St. Louis Blues.
Guerin's family is apparently very happy in Dallas, so he probably won't want to uproot them. St. Louis is a short trip from there, and his buddy Keith Tchachuk plays there, and since he is getting paid by the Stars for the next 2 years, he will be available for an affordable salary to the Blues. Thoughts?

Makes sense. I've also heard rumors that Doug Weight might be interested in retiring a Blue. Maybe they can get Pronger back and just pretend that last year never happened...

If I was Weight I would stay in Raleigh. I heard it's gorgeous down there, and the bang for your buck is ridiculous. I've considered the move myself.
