Toronto Maple Leafs name Paul Maurice new head coach
Well speculation is over. Teemu Selanne's clone, Paul Maurice will be named the new head coach of the Toronto Maple Leafs at a news conference this morning. You can see it at TSN.ca.
Paul Maurice was coaching the Toronto Marlies, the Leafs farm club and he has been rumored to be the new head coach for some time, even before Pat Quinn was fired. Prior to the Marlies he coached the Whalers / Hurricanes for 9 seasons and led the Hurricanes to a Stanley Cup appearance against Detroit 4 years ago.

Maurice is Selanne's clone??? I don't see it. Teemu has that nice flowing hair and million dollar smile. Okay, make that a buck-fifty dollar smile...
Regardless, as a Canes fan I'm glad to see Maurice get another shot in the league though I'd prefer it were with another team just because Darcy Tucker drives me batshit. But if anybody can help Jeff O'Neil turn it around, it's Maurice. That's a tough job in Toronto and I wish him luck (as long as it does't come at the expense of teams I actually like).
