Also newsworthy - Brad Richards resigned with Tampa for something like 38 million over 5 yrs, putting him right behind Jagr in the cha-ching category.
I don't remember where I read this, but someone suggested the possibility of Tampa shipping St. Louis out to San Jose for Nabokov. Or was it to Anaheim for Giguere?? Hell, I can't remember, but it's just gossip anyway. Point is, three players are commanding 20 million of Tampa's salary cap total which doesn't leave them a lot to address the holes they clearly need to fill. Logic would suggest they'll use one of their big three as trade bait and I'd guess Marty St. Louis is the short man out. (Get it?)

Nabokov just got a pretty fat contract, and I think it's roughly in league with St. Louis. I think Guigere may be more affordable, but not by much. They may want to pursue an Esche/Nittymaki, or maybe a Martin Gerber if money is the issue. Great points PM!
